Brian Charette, Mathias Sandberg & Teppo Mäkynen (USA/FIN) At the Koko Jazz Club Hakaniemi farewell concert on 24 September: jazz organist Brian Charette, Mathias Sandberg and Teppo Mäkynen. Based in New York, Charette has released more than 20 albums of his own, tours actively with Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers and Oz Noy, and as a sideman has worked with Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Chaka Khan, Vinnie Colaiuta, Bill Stewart, John Patitucci, George Coleman and Lou Donaldson, among others. The concerts feature Charette's and Sandberg's grooviest tunes, and the trio's modernised take on the soul-jazz tradition.
