Accessibility of Koko Jazz Club's premises and getting to the venue
Visitors with reduced mobility can access KokoTeatteri and Koko Jazz Club through the upstairs back door. Please let us know about your mobility restrictions and any need for special arrangements, so that our staff can serve you in the best possible way. We ask you to make the booking primarily by email bookings@kokoteatteri.fi. If necessary, bookings can also be made by phone at 0503219919 (weekdays 12–4 pm). Personal assistants are admitted free of charge.
The staff is informed in advance of visitors with reduced mobility arriving at the performance and assists with moving to the auditorium if needed. An accessible service desk serves in the lobby. Wheelchair customers are seated in the first row of the auditorium.
Getting to the upstairs theatre hall
Koko Jazz Club's main doors are located downstairs, from where about 30 steps lead upstairs. There are sturdy wooden handrails on both sides of the staircase.
Visitors with reduced mobility can, if necessary, enter through the building's upper door on the parking deck side. The parking deck can be reached on foot or by car via the Näkinkuja ramp. Next to the upper door there is a 700 mm wide ramp with a slope of about 35°. The back door is 800 mm wide. The back door has a threshold about 30 mm high.
Toilet facilities
Please note that Koko Jazz Club does not have an actual accessible toilet. One of the toilet cubicles allows access to the toilet facilities with a manual wheelchair. The toilet facility door is 700 mm wide. The cubicle door is 590 mm wide.
Getting to the downstairs club space
Visitors with reduced mobility can also access the downstairs club space and culture café. An accessible service desk serves in the premises. The downstairs door is 980 mm wide. Before the outer door there is a 100 mm high concrete step. The outer door also has a vestibule with two thresholds about 30 mm high. Please let us know about wheelchair use already when booking, so that we can assist if needed.
Unfortunately, there are no toilet facilities downstairs. Moving to the upstairs toilets happens either via the stairs or outside according to the instructions above. The theatre staff is informed in advance of visitors with reduced mobility arriving at the performance and assists if needed.
Induction loop
Koko Jazz Club's premises do not have an induction loop in use.
General information about getting to the theatre
Koko Jazz Club is located at Hämeentie 3. The venue is easy to reach by public transport. If arriving by car, please note the limited number of parking spaces in the area and possible traffic arrangements due to roadworks.
Both buses and the metro stop at Hakaniemi market square. From the square it is about a 5-minute walk to the theatre along Hämeentie or via Sörnäisten rantatie and Näkinkuja. Trams 6 and 7 stop at the Haapaniemi stop, from which it is about a 2-minute walk to the theatre.
If you arrive by car, please take into account traffic arrangements due to roadworks. Parking space is limited. Paid parking is available both near Hakaniemi market square on Sörnäisten rantatie and on Näkinkuja. The parking garage under Hakaniemi market square is closed for the time being due to roadworks.
